The older, naturally-aspirated 16-valve version of the 2.0 L(1998 cc) cast iron block engine is the successor to the OHC-engines and a predecessor to the 16-valve Ecotec-line of engines. OHC-derived block with 86 mm bore & stroke and a Cosworth-developed DOHC cylinder head (Cosworth Project KB). Cylinder heads were manufactured by Cosworth and Kolbenschmidt. In general, the heads from this engine family are supposed to flow appreciabl? better than most Ecotec heads. Power output is rated at 110 kW (150 hp) @ 6000 rpm and 196 N·m @ 4600 rpm (C20XE) or 156 hp (20XE). Russian car manufacturer AutoVAZ also used the C20XE in a limited-edition sports version of its Lada 110 model. This engine is used in:Opel Kadett GSi
Opel Vectra 2000
Opel Vectra GT 16V
Opel Calibra 16V
Opel Astra GSi
Lada 110X20XEV
The first Ecotec engine found in Opel, development from the C20XE. 2.0 16v naturally aspirated engine. 136 hp. 86 mm bore and stroke in cast iron block with aluminum cylinder head.Opel Calibra 94-
Opel Vectra 94-
Opel Omega 94-

The engine is a 4-cylinder DOHC configuration and the code identifies the engine as:

Utilizing a catalytic converter
2.0 litres
Compression ratio 8.5:1 to 9.0:1
Multi-point injection (where one fuel injector is used for each cylinder fed by a fuel rail, compared to single point injection which uses one injector to feed all cylinders via a carburettor of sorts)
Turbocharger.

The engine as used in the Cavalier/Calibra Turbo variants uses a Bosch Motronic 2.7 engine management system. It produces 204BHP at 5600RPM and 206.5lb/ft of torque at 2400RPM. The two cars that use it have quite a cult following in Britain as they are not only the most powerful stock versions of their respective models (not to mention highly tuneable), but they are the rarest.
